Situated in Peradeniya, about 5.5 km from the city of Kandy, is the largest and one of the most attractive botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. The park is a must visit travel destination in anyone’s list. The mosaic layout of flowers in the bed of green grass and trees, makes the garden one of the most remarkable attractions in Sri Lanka. Located approximately 39 km from Kandy, this is a nursery and a breeding ground for orphaned Asian wild elephants, accommodating the largest herd of captive elephants in the world.
